About Sophie & Ross

Sophie- I have a beauty salon in Ruskington with 9 members of staff. I’ve had the business since March 2015. I have three chihuahuas- I am obsessed with chihuahuas! My favourite colour is pink! I fit the stereotypical beauty therapist until you meet me- I don’t mind get mucky, I love to do activities like tree top climbing, kayaking etc when we go on holiday. I like to walk the dogs down the fields. I love chocolate. I get bored easily. I talk a lot. My friends and family are important to me in my life. So is my space. I like my home to be tidy- then my mindset is tidy too! I absolutely adore Ross (my husband to be) – he really does treat me like a real life princess. He is kind, loving and caring. I know he loves me a lot. I love him more than he will ever know. I am forever lucky to be marrying the perfect gentleman. He has the most contagious smile which I absolutely love- a lot of my clients say I’m a super smiley person- which makes me feel happy because I feel like it makes myself and Ross match!

Ross- (I am writing this for Ross as he is working) Ross is a personal trainer and runs his own studio. His clients love him! No one has a bad word to say about Ross. He is respectable and his clients do listen to him! He opened his gym in 2021. His family are farmers and he used to work full time on the farm/ whereas now he just does the paperwork to keep everything organised. Ross is very into fitness. He has recently done a marathon and does regular 5Ks, 10Ks and half marathons. He loves plants and trees and is very into nature. He cares about the environment and does his bit for the planet. He enjoys being outside- especially exercising. Ross always tries to eat well having studied nutrition and is aware what all the foods you eat do to your body. He likes to get enough sleep. He has a degree and a masters degree. He respects everyone he meets. Ross plays hockey for England! Just a casual mention! He’s played hockey for 20 years and it’s a big part of his (now my) life.

The proposal – Ross booked a weekend away for my birthday. We went to Port Lympne nature reserve in Kent. We had just arrived and couldn’t check into our room yet (we stayed in ‘The Bubble’). We sat at a table outside within the grounds of a cafe at the mansion. The weather was perfect- hot and sunny. He encouraged me to look at this pond he had seen. I wasn’t interested in the pond but he pushed it a few times. This is where he proposed. I turned around after looking at the fish in this pond to find Ross on one knee – I just gasped and said “Oh my god”. He said “When you know, you know- Sophie, will you marry me?” – he said I didn’t say anything and just took the ring haha! But I just remember feeling so inlove and just kept hugging him. We just smiled for the rest of the day.
