BUNNY HILL WEDDING DANIELLA & ARCHIE
A WEDDING CAPTURED AT BUNNY HILL
I (Daniella) work in documentaries, currently for a film archive company and previously in post-production. Archie works for a freight forwarding platform working to streamline processes and make them more eco-friendly. We grew up in opposite ends of the country (myself in Brighton and Archie just outside Sheffield) but have settled in East London where we live with our munchkin of a cat Loki.
In our spare time we like to mix our time between all the fantastic stuff to do in the city (cinema, pubs, restaurants, rock climbing etc.) and enjoying nature in the local parks/Hackney marshes and outside the city with family and friends living further afield.
We met at a mutual friend’s birthday party at the University of Manchester in 2017. 6 months later he moved in with that friend giving us a chance to get to know each other more and we finally went on our first date about a year after meeting and have been together for a little over 4 years now.
We got engaged during covid so Archie had lots of different plans that kept getting cancelled or postponed with the various lock downs. Eventually he spontaneously proposed at my parent’s house over Christmas during a game of Mr & Mrs, asking both myself and my Dad who was ‘most likely to accept his proposal’. Thankfully only I said yes!
We were then up until about 2am with the family celebrating – even though my Mum had just had a knee replacement she was the first up dancing!
Being in the industry I’m in (and having studied Neuroscience of Emotion Perception and Media Psychology at uni) I love the magic that can be captured on film, and have had so much fun looking at the different ways people have filmed and edited the footage to represent the wedding celebrations. On top of that we are both film buffs with going to the cinema being one of our favourite things to do!
So the idea of being able to look back at a film and experience moments from the day would be really special to us.
There are many companies offering wedding videography in York, so lots of choices to find a perspective and aesthetic that matches us. I could go into how I love the colour grade and way you edit over the audio from the speeches into the visuals from the day – which is all true. But in short your portfolio is one of the few that made us emotional and a part of the day though we don’t even know the people getting married!
We actually found it before we got engaged and it just felt like the perfect combination of both our styles. Neither of us had a clear vision of our ‘perfect day’ going into this but this venue just felt perfect from the start, and the more we get to know about it the more we love it.
We love music so I am planning to be up dancing all night and Archie will be belting out the words to all the songs, and we are big foodies so are probably most excited for the food. And just for us all to have fun! It’s been a tough few years for us all, and our families have sadly had a lot of losses recently. So we’re just excited to get everyone we love together to celebrate with us!
